Shopping mood..... Yeahh.... Im only a fervent shopper for books...... Bought "The Innocent Man" by John Grisham and "Gates Of Fire" by Stephen Pressfield...... Finished "Dance Dance Dance" by Haruki Murakami...... Its not bad...... Though I still think "Norwegian Woods" is the better book....... And I am also not too sure whether did Yumiyoshi die in the end....... The prose seems to indicate it but then again I might be wrong....... Oh well..... Prolly gotta google for the answer....... 8/10....... Started on the latest book by John Grisham....... His first non-fiction...... Darn blardy good...... Im hook already....... This can only means bad news to my wallet in which I will probably need to buy new books again to keep me occupied....... Signed my contract with Merrill..... So technically, Im employed already....... Hehe...... Nat is back from China...... But she is away to Phuket again with Candice....... Hahaha...... Globe trekker...... Anyway, welcome home!!! Sleeping at 5 am and not suffering any consequences when I wake up at 3pm...... My courses over at HKU is still pretty much stuck..... Im pretty much screwed as of now...... Watched Harry Potter with Sue...... Hahaha...... Not bad a movie....... Though Sue said that its boring...... Probabaly the disparity between book and movie...... Always the case....... Book is always alot better than movie........ Chatted over anything that crossed our minds....... Haven hang out in Tampines Mall in eons...... Good evening spent...... Enjoy your trip in HK...... A boo boo sorta happen but I thought it might be a good thing as well...... I emailed my Singapore Team to thank them for all the help and concern that they had given me through the 10 weeks....... But the issue is that I emailed them in an informal manner peppered with Singlish....... The next thing I know, Yuki (My boss) broadcast that email to the global team and praise my work...... Oh my gosh..... I wont mind the praising, but the email I sent is really unprofessional..... Hahaha..... Oh well....... That also spurred a series of email for me...... Some of which are really encouraging...... Hehe...... The next part of this entry is gonna be egoistic as I paste some of the emails content word for word....... So proceed with caution...... Johnny's Email I was one of the interviewers in Ray's group when he was in the first round of case study. His group was very impressive and he was the best. In the second round of interview he was interviewed by Camy. So happen he was the only candidate on interviewed by both of us. We interviewed a lot a lot of candidates on that super Sat. Again, Camy said that he is very good. It is not easy to impress Camy (sori, not mean you are bosy but you are very good to select students after past five years of internship program). Easy choice, we know Ray was our intern. We were very sure that we would get him as Camy and I were the only two senior managers from GBT interviewing candidates on that date. We are the first team to choose. Other GBT team couldn't fight with us. Yuki's Email Hi Ray, Thanks for your excellent work for the past 10 weeks. I am sure you have also gained a lot from this stint. As a parting advice I would say, continue to learn more on Finance (more specifically Investment Banking) and Technology. A mix of Investment banking domain and technology is a great place to be in for a long term career. You have a bright future ahead and wish you all the very best. Done with the global presentation....... Think I did well...... The senior management in US are quite happy with what Im doing....... Cammy and Johnny, my two VPs congratulate me for the work....... My hardwork put in had been justified....... Dare say that the training at SMU had prepare us well for the corporate world...... Johnny also break the good news that Merrill is offering me a job...... The offer details will be release in the next few weeks....... This offer has a deeper significance than merely a job....... Its sorta telling myself that the three hard years in school is not for naught....... Its like a closure and a payoff for the effort...... Though I still have 3 more semester to go...... I know I will work hard to keep my level of performance or raise it to another notch....... It also means something for my family........ I hope my mum and dad will be proud....... To finally see all their children through....... I hope for the day when I can allow my parents to live well for their golden years........ Im sorta at peace again....... Rented "Freedom Writers"...... Brilliant show........ Im such a sucker for such shows...... Simply cannot resist those motivational shows........ Really darn nice...... FYP will more or less conclude this Tuesday when we make our presentation....... Its a darn blardy boring 7 months..... Long and shaggg....... I really really feel darn shaggg after FYP...... Freakin to hell with IS mods....... The report we did is about 150++ pages....... Coupled with a system........ And its freakin just 1 CU........ URRGGHHH..... Week 9/10 of internship....... Presentation this coming Wednesday to fellow interns, managers and the director of Singapore...... 5 mins...... Its should be easy....... The other presentation next Wednesday is the real deal....... Presenting to my team in US, UK, HK and Singapore........ Goshhhh...... 1 hour....... What to talk for an hour...... Shaggg...... Internship is fun and FYP is sucky....... I think Ive bitch alot about FYP...... But seriously, its making real sick....... Im like a person with no life at all...... Whenever weekends come for others, its fun and games....... For myself, its work work work all day long, 7 days a week....... Its the first time I dont really want to care about a module...... Just want to get it over and done with....... 2 more days..... Just 2 more....... Salvation will come.......
